The TKP is a temperature-sensitive device with cyclic operation, which is intended to maintain the temperature between two particular values under normal operating conditions by automatically turning the electrical circuit on or off. Once the temperature of the bimetallic plate has returned to the specified reset temperature, the contacts will automatically return to their original state. The operating temperature of this thermostat is adjusted by rotating the shaft.

This thermostat can be constructed to open or close its electrical contacts as the temperature increases. the current-sensitive can be constructed to open or close its electrical contacts as the temperature increases. The current-sensitive model is also available, which is, in this case, also an energy controller.
