The R Series thermal protectors are high-performance miniaturised bimetallic switches that can be used in a wide range of different applications and devices. They are specifically designed for use in electrical windings, making them the ideal choice for protecting motors and transformers when automatic reset is not desired.
The current-sensitive circuit breakers in this series detect the temperature of the protected device, but also react to the self-heating of the bimetallic disc passing through the current. This feature significantly reduces overheating if the switch is used in the main winding circuit. The contacts snap open when the threshold temperature is reached.
Electrical retention is ensured by a heating element mounted parallel to the switch mechanism. Resetting the switch is only possible by disconnecting the device from the power supply. Numerous customisations extend the spectrum of applications.
