Description

A manual reset thermostat is used when there is a need for extreme safety that, once triggered, cannot be reset except by the specific will of an operator.

The mechanism that makes this operation possible is very simple. A bimetallic disc deforms upwards once the operating temperature has been reached. Here it pushes a small plastic pin that lifts the contacts and consequently interrupts the passage of current. The bimetal disc is already preformed, so that, once tripped, it will not reset itself automatically, but pressure will have to be applied to it for it to return to its original position.

Once the temperature has dropped to the point where resetting is possible, all that needs to be done is to press the external button, which will push the pin against the bimetallic disc, which will take up its initial position and the contacts will resume continuity.
