Description
The PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient), is a ceramic semiconductor with a positive coefficient that changes its resistance as a function of temperature. TMC PTCs are thermal protectors designed and manufactured for insertion in the coils of motors or electrical transformers.
OPERATION In the event of a temperature rise within ten degrees of the nominal temperature, a change in resistance greater than 1kOhm is observed. This variation is read by an instrument connected to the PTC (trip) which opens the circuit permanently.
MOUNTING PTCs should be inserted parallel to the winding direction to minimise mechanical stress.
The dimensions of the TMC PTCs are particularly small to facilitate insertion into a coil and to ensure a rapid response to temperature variation. The sensing element is insulated with a Kynar® (ATOFINA registered trademark) shrink sleeve.
The colour coding of the cables allows immediate identification of temperatures
MF1 SERIES
The MF series is built according to DIN 44081.
Customised versions (length and cable type - UL version cables) are available.
Available in a temperature range from 60°C to 190°C.
APPLICATIONS: motor windings - generators and transformers - bearings - metrology and control instruments, etc.
